SAN PEDRO DE ALCANTARA

This typical Spanish village is just three kilometers from the glitz and glamor of Puerto Banus and 10km from Marbella. When you are in San Pedro de Alcántara, go definitely to the village square. Here are the ornate church and narrow streets that are packed with small shops, cafes and bars. Here still live the authentic locals.

The San Pedro beach has a modern, wide promenade which stretches all the way to Puerto Banus. Ideal for an evening stroll and very popular among fitness enthusiasts, cyclists and runners.

GUADALMINA

The attractiveness of this area consists of the fact that everything you need is at maximum 15 minutes walk away. Golf, beach, shops, bars and restaurants ... all within easy reach, but without the feeling that it is a massively built, crowded area.

BENAHAVIS

Benahavis is a beautiful white Spanish mountain village just 7 km from the coast and with its winding narrow streets and whitewashed houses around the village remained remarkably intact.

It is renowned for its excellent restaurants and many golf courses in the immediate area. The kitchen is so important that Benahavis has its own cooking school called "Fundación Escuela Hispano Árabe La Dieta Mediterranea".

The road up to the village meanders along the river Guadalmina. Here are some beautiful luxury urbanisations. There are nine golf courses in the area.

La Zagaleta, one of the most prestigious -and also one of the duurste- urbanisations of the entire Costa del Sol, certainly contributes to the status of Benahavis as being the richest municipality per capita in Andalucía.

Benahavis is ideal for anyone looking for a quiet house, but not in 'the middle of nowhere. It's not extremely crammed and furthermore the area is a beautiful, picturesque hills and yet only 10 minutes drive from the beach and only 15 minutes to Puerto Banus.

LOS ARQUEROS

Many of the homes in Benahavis can be found in the area called Los Arqueros - a beautiful, but as difficult golf course surrounded by urbanisations with name and fame.

The urbanization is built on a hill, so that most homes have stunning views over the valley and sea. You can find beautiful apartments, villas and townhouses and buy all of them are entitled to the use of the clubhouse and its facilities.

Soon there will be a completely new shopping center.

LOS FLAMINGOS

Adjacent to Los Arqueros golf valley lies the very famous Los Flamingos with the 5 star luxury hotel Villa Padierna. Surrounded by luxury resorts with mostly modern architecture.

A few years ago was the opening of Laguna Beach - a small but very nice shopping center with upscale shops, restaurants and a super deluxe beach bar, located between Los Flamingos and Estepona. Definitely worth a visit. Imagine yourself in Hawaii, but with the view of the Rock of Gibraltar.

This is a great place to buy a home when you're looking for a quieter area. Keep in mind that you're both in Los Arqueros and Los Flamingos best to order a car. Not because it is so distant, but because here it is hillier than on the coast.

ESTEPONA

If you're looking for more traditional Spanish culture on the coast, you will find here certainly.

Although the city has grown in recent years and has developed rapidly, Estepona has managed not to deny its Spanish origin. Go definitely strolling in the beautiful old town with its beautiful central square, surrounded by beautiful cobbled streets full of tapas bars, cafes and small hidden shops. The bars and restaurants in the center are cheaper than further along the coast, but the quality is excellent. Especially if you're looking for authentic tapas and other traditional Spanish meat and fish.

The beaches of Estepona are wide and long, flanked by a beautiful promenade and where there are many chiringuitos (beach bars).

On the boulevard, it is often very busy with sports enthusiasts who run or use the sports facilities at the beach or with families, often in several generations, make an evening stroll. The promenade runs all the way to the marina, where you can still find more bars and restaurants. Every Sunday there is a pleasant market.
